Separate costs

Some claim processes may involve independent professionals.

Third-party costs are separate. Appraiser, umpire, engineering, laboratory, and testing fees are set by those providers and paid by the policyholder. They are not part of the $300 flat fee, and we disclose them before appraisal is invoked or any specialist is engaged.

Outside the standard scope

Commercial and multi-building claims: custom proposal.

  • Independent appraiser fees
  • Umpire fees
  • Engineering reports
  • Attorney fees
  • Laboratory or material testing
  • Travel or on-site inspection not expressly included
  • Work outside the signed scope
  • Major commercial or complex-loss work requiring a separate proposal

Appraisal availability and suitability depend on the policy language, the nature of the dispute, the documentation, economics, deadlines, and other claim-specific considerations.

The precise trigger, fee amount, payment timing, prior-payment treatment, depreciation treatment, withdrawal provisions, and statutory cap are defined in the signed engagement agreement. The invoiced fee never exceeds the applicable Texas compensation ceiling.
